Privacy Policy
Last updated October 24, 2026
The short version. SwipeStack does not collect, store on a server, share or sell any of your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your photos and videos are never uploaded. The only way a copy leaves the app is when you ask for one, to a USB drive you plug in or to the uLock app on the same iPhone.

Who we are
SwipeStack is an iPhone app for reviewing and clearing out your photos and videos. In this policy, “SwipeStack”, “we” and “us” mean the developer of the app. You can reach us at contact@swipestackapp.com.
What the app does on your iPhone
Everything SwipeStack does happens on your device. None of the information below is sent to us.
Your photos and videos
SwipeStack asks for access to your full photo library through Apple’s Photos framework, so that it can show you your photos and videos and delete the ones you choose. It reads the photos and videos themselves along with details Photos keeps about them: the date they were taken, where they were taken (if Photos has a location), their albums, whether they are favorites, and their file size. It uses that information to show you each item, to copy it when you ask for a copy, and to delete it when you confirm. SwipeStack never asks for your current location; it only reads the location already saved with a photo.
SwipeStack deletes nothing by itself. When you delete, iOS shows its own confirmation, and deleted items stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days.
What the app remembers
To keep your place between sessions, SwipeStack stores a small amount of information in its private storage on your iPhone: which items you kept, which you marked for deletion, which are in your Archive, a record of the backups you made (file names, sizes, dates and checksums), your settings, and the drive folder you picked. Other apps cannot read it, it is not sent anywhere, and it is removed when you delete SwipeStack.
Notifications
SwipeStack can show a daily reminder with the number of memories waiting, and a nudge if you stop partway through a session. These are scheduled by the app on your iPhone. There is no push notification server and nothing is sent to us. You can turn them off in the app’s Settings or in iOS Settings.
Archive: USB drives and uLock
Archive is optional. It lets you copy photos and videos you chose off your iPhone.
- USB drive. You pick a folder on a drive with iOS’s own folder picker. SwipeStack can only reach that folder. It writes your files there, plus a small list of what it wrote (identifiers, file names, sizes, dates and checksums) so it can tell what is already backed up. Those files and that list are on your drive; we never receive them.
- uLock. If you also have uLock, the encrypted photo vault app from the same developer, SwipeStack can hand it a copy. The copy is encrypted before it is handed over, and only uLock can open it. It travels through a private storage area on your iPhone that only these apps share, and it never goes over a network. Once uLock has a copy, uLock’s own privacy policy applies to it.
- Deleting afterwards. SwipeStack offers to delete an original only after it has checked that a copy exists, and iOS asks you to confirm.
iCloud
If you use iCloud Photos with Optimize iPhone Storage, some originals may live only in iCloud. When you ask SwipeStack to copy such a photo, iOS downloads the full-quality original from your own iCloud account so the copy is complete. That download is between your iPhone and Apple. SwipeStack does not have access to your iCloud account and nothing passes through us.
Purchases
Archive is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple. We never see your Apple Account details or payment information. The app only learns whether the purchase has been made, which it gets from Apple on your device.
What we never do
- We do not collect personal information, and we do not run servers that receive anything from the app.
- We do not use analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services, and the app contains no third-party tracking code.
- We do not track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
- We do not sell or share your data, because we do not have it.
TestFlight
If you use a beta of SwipeStack through Apple’s TestFlight, Apple may collect crash reports, usage information and any feedback you choose to send, and make them available to us. That is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. SwipeStack itself does not add anything to it.
Keeping and deleting your data
All of SwipeStack’s data is on your iPhone. You can clear your Archive list or reset your keep history in the app’s Settings, and deleting the app removes everything it stored. Copies you made on a USB drive or in uLock are yours: they stay where you put them until you remove them.
Children
SwipeStack is not directed at children under 13. Because it collects no information from anyone, it holds nothing about children either.
Your rights
Laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give people the right to see, correct and delete the personal information a company holds about them. We hold none, so there is nothing to request. If you have a question about this policy or want to confirm that, write to contact@swipestackapp.com.
This website
swipestackapp.com is a plain static site. It does not use cookies, analytics, tracking pixels, embedded content, or fonts and scripts from other companies. Like most hosting, ours may keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) to keep the site running and secure; we do not use them to identify or track visitors. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page, and note significant changes in the app’s release notes. The version on this page is the current one.
